“Edith Tells All” is the true story of a 21-year-old school teacher in Pound, Va who was tried & convicted of killing her father in 1935. Although the case is little known today, at the time it made headlines in newspapers across the country. Wise County became a household name, the press swarmed the area, & women’s rights got involved. Even Eleanor Roosevelt stopped in to support the young teacher’s defense.
Pamela Gilmer, veteran actor who taught in the Pound for over 20 years, skillfully re-enacts the drama – including all the cast of characters. In this original script, she includes details taken from court transcripts & media accounts of that time. The result is an enthralling drama of one woman’s struggle for justice & it’s nation-wide impact.
