Appalachian born filmmaker, Eddie Mensore, unveils his latest drama, “Hazard“, a searing exploration of addiction and resilience set against the backdrop of a mining town gripped by the opioid crisis. The film, featuring a talented cast that includes Sosie Bacon, Alex Roe, Dave Davis, Steven Ogg, and West Virginia native Kevin Sizemore, debuts in theaters Jan. 10.
Filmed on location in Harlan County, “Hazard” tells the gripping story of Will (Roe), a reluctant drug dealer determined to protect his family from the very addiction ravaging their community. As Will navigates the perilous challenges of his double life, he faces increasingly fraught decisions that threaten to cost him everything. The film delves into his struggle to escape the cycle of dependency and reclaim hope amidst overwhelming adversity.
The film also features music by Nicholas Jamerson, Sundy Best, John R. Miller and Arlo McKinley.
